[If anyone could see Otacon right now, they would see a happy guy who had caught his very first water-type Pokémon via an Old rod. He had fished with his buddy Snake for a few days around route_31 to try and catch a Magikarp. Guess what? He had succeeded after several days trying to perfect his method. Right now he had some questions about HMs, TMs and evolutionary stones.]

I've just got a few questions for anyone who might know the answers regarding TMs, HMs and evolutionary stones. I'm pretty new as to how these actually work, as I overheard a fisherman talk about using a Water stone on his Poliwhirl to make it evolve into a Poliwrath. Does anyone know where you can acquire these stones? Do you buy them from Pokemarts or stores or do you have to find them?

[He passed an Oran berry to his hungry Piplup, who had enjoyed the last few days by the water's side.]

Also, Technical Machines and Hidden Machines.....does anyone know how to obtain and actually use these? I spoke to one Breeder, who said you break the disk over the Pokémon's head. It just sounds a bit odd to me. If anyone can clarify on this it will be very helpful.

Oh and....I caught my very first Magikarp yesterday, after lots of perseverance. Thanks, Snake. If you're tuning into this. You did help me a lot you know.

You can buy stones in Goldenrod's department store. They're a little expensive, but they've got a good selection.

As for TMs, that's how it works. It's weird, but so is everything else.]

I didn't realise that you can buy the stones in Goldenrod's store. It must be a huge place. [He had to get to Goldenrod, so that he could see what they sell.]

How do you use the stone once you've got one?

You just touch them with it, and their body reacts to it, somehow anyway.

Ok...so you touch them with it and they evolve just like that? [It was a little vague but the help was greatly appreciate.]

Have you ever evolved a Pokémon yourself?

A few of mine have evolved like that. They usually get into my bag without asking me first, though.

...Get into the bag? As in they want to evolve without you even doing it yourself?

Yeah. My pokemon tend to be more proactive about it than I am.

What do you enjoy doing with your Pokémon? Do you travel about or just enjoy spending time with them?

Mostly the latter. I used to travel more, but once you have too many, it gets a little difficult to keep it fair...

Too many? Don't you just get Pokémon transferred to your box once you reach your limit of six?[That's what he thought anyway. How could it become difficult?]

Yeah, but it gets lonely in there, right? So I try to give them all time outside. And you can't switch out on the road.
