Boys Just Wanna Have Fun

[Otacon was looking forward to having Raiden over for a pizza and turtle watching evening. He had asked the young soldier a few days before about coming over to the Nomad, just to chill out. That's what Raiden needed more than anything. Just time to chill with his friends and why the hell not?

Otacon laid out the TMNT videos on the sofa and pulled out the pizza ordering leaflet. He was going to wait until Raiden arrived first, so that he could choose the pizza he wanted. Otacon hoped that either Sunny or Snake would turn up to enjoy the movies and pizza too. The more the merrier.]

I hope Pepsi is ok for you, Raiden...[Otacon muttered to himself, as he pulled out some cans of soda from the fridge. He knew Raiden didn't drink alcohol much now, which was fine, as neither did Otacon much. He preferred a green tea or something near healthy. He placed the cans of drink near the sofa and sat down. Now, all he had to do was wait.]

[Raiden eventually arrived and gave Otacon a quick buzz on the Codec to let him know he was there.]

Hey. I'm outside the NOMAD. Not sure if you've got it locked or not...

[Otacon placed two fingers at his ear and nodded.]

I'll unlock it for you. [He got up and went to the hatch door, unlocking it. He smiled when he saw Raiden.] I'm glad you made it.

[He smiled at Otacon and climbed up into the plane]

How could I not? I've needed a day like this.

That's why I invited you. [He closed and locked the door behind them, as he lead Raiden into the living area aboard the Nomad.] Take a seat.

[He moved some anime magazines and cigarette packets from the table. Geez, Snake.] Sorry about the mess. Snake seems to forget about putting his cigarettes out of view. I don't want Sunny getting hold of them. [He sighed then turned back to Raiden.]

So, uh, what flavour pizza do you like? [Otacon passed Raiden the pizza menu.]

Heh... He never changes, does he? I still have that pack he gave me as a good luck charm...

[Raiden sat down on the couch]

I'm cool with whatever. Except Hawaiian.

[The clashing flavors reminded him of Rose's cooking]

Snake? I don't think he'll ever change, but I'm ok with that. Snake is just Snake. [He smiled and sat down on the couch next to Raiden.]

You don't like Hawaiian? Fair enough. I kind of like pepperoni and lots of cheese. I think I'll go for this one. [He pointed at the picture on the leaflet then picked up his phone.]

I'll order our pizzas now. If Sunny and Snake want to join us, I can always order them pizzas too. [Otacon set about ringing the pizza company and ordering both their pizzas.]

Heh... Yeah.

[He looked at the paper]

That one'll be good. Why not order a couple? If they don't join us, then you'll at least have left overs.

Ok. Good idea. [Otacon ordered a few more pizzas, just in case Sunny or Snake decided to join them later. He put the phone down and smiled.]

Shouldn't be too long. Would you like some Pepsi, Raiden? [He passed the younger man a can.]

[Raiden took the can and cracked it open, then sipped a little]

Thanks. Which one do you wanna start with?

[Otacon cracked open a can of his own and took a sip.]

Uh, movie? Well, what sort of movies do you like? I've got action, sci-fi, anime, historical, supernatural. Take your pick.

I meant out of the Turtle movies. Unless you wanna watch something else.

Oh, the Turtle movies! Of course. How about the one where they all get shrunk by this mutant slime and end up as baby turtles? [Otacon rooted through the movies and pulled out the right one.]

Huh... That was... the second one, right?

Yeah, I think so. My memory is pretty rusty on the movies, so I'll take your word for it. [Otacon smiled and sipped some more of his can of soda, as he put the movie in. He sat back down and wondered if anyone else would show up.]

It's nice this. Just you and me, Raiden, having some alone time. I mean, uh, not in the creepy way, of course.

It's been a while since I've seen them so I don't really remember either.

[Raiden drapes an arm over the back of the couch and crosses his legs]

Yeah, it is. I'm sure Rose is happy to have me out of the house too.

[It pleased Otacon to see Raiden relaxed. The engineer laid back into the sofa and sipped his soda. It felt good to spend time with friends and have awesome times.]

She won't miss you being out of the house then?

No. I don't really do much outside of work, game, spend time with her, and sleep. I'm usually cooped up in the house when I'm home. She says the socializing will help me.

Game? What sort of games do you like, Raiden? [Otacon was curious now. He knew the boy needed to socialise more, as did the engineer. He probably spent less time socialising than Raiden.

Aw, her cooking can't be that bad. Sunny's eggs aren't exactly the best.]

I'm not too picky with my games. FPS, RPGs, action, horror...

Oh, so you like a wide range of games? I guessed you would like FPS, as you're good with a gun. I love JPRGs, especially ones with cute anime girls in them. [Uh, Otacon? Don't bore poor Raiden again.]

... Yeah. I guess it carried over from VR training...

[He frowned a bit, realizing how much the army has had an impact on his life. He quickly distracted himself from it by replying to Otacon]

I figured that was your type, considering your nickname.

The VR training. I would love to implement something like that. Really find out how the whole system works and have a play. It must have been some really complex programming with subroutines and re-routing of- [He stops himself and adjusts his glasses.]

-sorry. I don't mean to go off talking about tekky stuff. My name? Oh, right. Yeah. I do love a role playing game.

Yeah, that's it. I used to go every year to the Otaku conventions when I was younger. It was like a regular thing for me. Not so much now though, as I'm busy with helping Snake and looking after Sunny.

[Both of which were much more important than an anime convention.]

I never went to one myself but I occasionally saw some cosplayers while I was working in Manhattan.
